Notice of Rate Change 2026

At the March 24, 2026 Board of Directors meeting, the Board approved amendments to the Corporation’s Tariff, including revisions to the Service Availability Charge (Base Rate) applicable to all meter classifications and updates to the residential gallonage rate schedule in Section G of the Tariff.

The Corporation’s Tariff, including all approved rates and policies, is available for review on the Corporation’s website at www.wnwater.com.

The new rates will become effective June 20, 2026, and will first appear on bills issued in August 2026. This notice outlines the previous rates, the new rates, and the estimated impact on typical monthly water charges. This is the first rate adjustment affecting residential customers in more than 30 years.

Clarification on Water Usage Rate Tables
The Corporation has received questions regarding the usage ranges shown in the recent Notice of Water Rate Adjustment.Example of how usage ranges are shown in the notice:
• 0–5,000 gallons
• 6,001–10,000 gallons
• 11,001–30,000 gallons
The usage ranges presented in the notice are consistent with the rate structure adopted in the Corporation’s Tariff, as approved by the Board of Directors. The rates and tiers themselves are accurate and unchanged.
Water usage for both residential and commercial accounts is billed in 1,000-gallon increments, and partial thousand gallons are not rounded up.
Because billing is calculated in these increments:
• Each tier applies to billed usage in whole 1,000-gallon increments
• Once usage reaches the next 1,000-gallon increment, it is billed at the corresponding tier rate
The Corporation recognizes that the presentation of usage ranges may appear inconsistent between residential and commercial tables and may cause confusion. Any changes to how these tables are presented would require an amendment to the Corporation’s Tariff and approval by the Board of Directors.
This clarification is being provided to assist customers in understanding how usage is billed under the current rate structure.

Base Rate Meter Size Clarification
For residential customers, the standard meter size is 5/8" x 3/4". The base rate shown in the residential rate table applies to that standard residential meter size. Commercial base rates vary based on meter size in accordance with the Corporation’s Tariff.
